How I work

Therapy works best when it meets you where you are — in your body, your relationships, your story. My approach is grounded in the belief that you are not broken and don't need to be fixed. What you need is a space where the parts of you that have been carrying the most weight finally get to be seen, understood, and gently moved through.

I work from a somatic and relational foundation, which means we pay attention to what's happening in your body alongside what's happening in your mind. Emotions live in the nervous system, not just in your thoughts, and lasting change often happens when we work at both levels at once.

I also bring a systemic lens to everything I do. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I'm trained to understand people within the context of their relationships, families, and larger environments. Whether you come to me as an individual or a couple, I'm always curious about the relational patterns and histories that shape how you experience yourself and others.

My work is warm, direct, and collaborative. I'll follow your lead while also offering observations, questions, and tools when they're useful. You'll never feel pushed faster than your nervous system can handle.

Modalities I Draw From

I don't work from a single script. Depending on what you're working on and how you're wired, I draw from a range of approaches:

For individuals: Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Somatic Therapy, Brainspotting, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-based approaches

For couples: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method

These aren't techniques I apply mechanically — they're frameworks I use to stay curious and responsive to what you actually need in the room.

Practical Details

Who I work with

I work with motivated individuals and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship distress, perinatal mental health, and the kind of stress that builds quietly over time until something gives. I'm licensed in Ohio, North Carolina, and Illinois.

Session format

All sessions are held virtually via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. Telehealth isn't a compromise. Many clients find that doing this work from their own space actually deepens the process. You can settle in somewhere comfortable, skip the commute, and arrive already at ease.

Session length and frequency

Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes. Couples sessions are 45–80 minutes depending on what we're working on. Most clients start weekly and adjust from there as things shift.

Investment

Individual sessions are $200 (intake $250). Couples sessions are $200–$250 depending on length.

I work primarily with self-pay clients. This keeps our work flexible, private, and focused entirely on what you need — without the constraints of insurance authorization or session limits.

I accept FSA and HSA cards.

Insurance:  I am currently in-network with Optum (UMR, UBH), United Health Care, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medical Mutual of Ohio, and Cigna. If you'd like to use insurance, please mention that when you reach out and we can discuss what's available.

For clients whose insurance I don't accept, I can provide a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement — many clients recover a significant portion of the cost this way.

Confidentiality

Everything you share is confidential with three exceptions: risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order. I'll review these limits with you at the start of our work together.

Crisis support

I'm not able to provide crisis services. If you're in a mental health emergency, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
